Winter Joy

It’s a new year! This winter has been a harsh one so I wanted to bring in some summer feels.

I wanted some pretty sunny colors for the flowers. The daisy is for joy and warm feelings of happiness- kind of like the sun! I also included purple sage flowers for prosperity and good luck, and mesquite leaves for a little protective vibe.

The carnelian will bring in warmth and to help you feel grounded in this weird time of year where we’re basically just waiting for the winter to be over.

The candles are dressed in orange and geranium oil, with lavender, calendula, and rose- all to bring you happiness, light, and a summer vibe.

The Summer Joy oil is made with rosemary, brittlebush petals, sage flowers, basil oil, and geranium oil (base is sweet almond oil). The brittlebush will bring you determination and staying power, the sage some prosperity, basil for luck, and geranium oil for happiness. The rosemary is for whatever else spirit needs- it’ll vary from person to person!

The summertime tea is apricot, apple, blackberry, raspberry leaves, marigold petals,

and butterfly pea flower, in a black pekoe blend.  Have it with the cookies for a moment of sweetness in your day.

Light the incense and bless the candle, carnelian, and the flowers. Maybe even fix yourself a cup of tea first. Sit in a quiet spot and anoint the carnelian with a drop of oil. Hold it in your hand and let it warm up, and smell the green floral scent of the oil. Close your eyes and think of your favorite summer memory. Continue to rub the oil into the stone and into your hands. When you have rubbed the oil completely into your hands, put the carnelian in front of the framed flowers. Whenever you see the flowers and the stone, and when you smell the scent of the oil, it will bring you inner warmth, reminding you that the harsh weather, gray days, grumpy people- they’re all temporary. You’ll have warmth and flowers and greenery and be able to go outside again soon.

I’m doing something different with the plus boxes this year. Every other month you’ll get a piece of jewelry or an altar tool like you have in the past. On alternating months you’ll get a piece that will become a wall hanging you can put over doorways, over your bathroom mirror, maybe even over your bed. I have mine over my bathroom mirror. It helps remind me that what I see in the mirror changes, but I’m still me, and I’m still awesome no matter what phase I’m in.
