Self Care
Well, if you’re on Marco or facebook you’ve seen the insanity that is gem show time- made even crazier by an unexpected layoff. But I got some SUPER COOL stuff for you this year! I also decided to do another self-care box, since February seems to be difficult (if you aren’t in Arizona, anyway). Here’s what’s in the box.
Exfoliating glove
Mexican peanut candy
Mini altar cloth
Creosote soaking or shower bag
Blue tiger eye for strength
Natural opal from Idaho
“Opium” scented incense
Bath salt scrub
Lemongrass from my garden; for purification and clarity
Dried, pulverized lemons and oranges; for brightness and joy
Bergamot oil; even more joy!
Epsom and himalayan salts; for protection, purification; pink is to love and enjoy your Self
Mint; for helping you keep this feeling of valuing one’s self- think of how hard it is to get rid of mint. Let that feeling grow and really root in, like mint when it gets into your garden!
Lavender; to bring calm
Creosote, also from my garden; 1- it’s just good for aches, but also determination, along the lines of the mint. It’s also considered a weed sometimes- be like creosote in that you don’t ever give up, you keep going, and you have value that wise people recognize.
Light yourself a candle and either fill your tub and toss in one or both of the bags (after making sure the herbal solids can’t escape- don’t jack up your pipes for this!), or if you’re showering, hang the creosote bag where it’ll get damp so you get the delicious smell. Then use the glove and the salt bag to exfoliate. All those ingredients and elements are working together to wash away all the grit and grime of every day stupid life and to bring in brightness, warmth, and joy. I just use my regular soap with one of those gloves for every shower. I love them so much. So scrubby!
I also found some little tiny canvases that I FREAKING LOVE. They should fit nicely into a 4x6” frame if you wanted to hang them up instead of putting them on your altar. The candy is just because I love it, and because Kacie didn’t like the Pulparindo. The incense is because that’s what smelled good the day I was packing!
The Plus gift was something I found at one of the gem shows I haven’t visited before, and y’all voted to have something cool I found instead of having me make something. I’ll admit I am enjoying the break, small as it is, during this insanely hectic time. I love and appreciate you all and hope you’re having a great year so far.
