Monthly Spell
April 2023
Grounding
Welcome to April! In most places this is when Spring really starts to feel like Spring. I’m getting ready to put sweet potato slips into the ground, and the mulberries are budding out and it’s nearly time to fight the birds for the berries. I personally am having a hard time focusing though, and Aries season has me riled up. I decided that this month we’re gonna practice grounding.
Here’s what’s in the box:
Meditation jar candles
Tajin
Blooming tea
Vetiver and sandalwood grounding oil
Garnet
Dragonsblood incense
Plus jewelry: lava bracelet with black obsidian
Crystal tier: Scolocite
The candles have a layer of blue, which is not scented, and then the green underneath is a blend of vetiver and sandalwood. That’s also the smell in the grounding oil so theoretically it should be safe for your skin if you want to dab a little on. The vetiver oil is “real” and the sandalwood is not, but it’s meant for skincare products and so should be skin-safe. It is a little earthy and a little tangy, and I love it SO MUCH. So give yourself a few minutes, maybe two, maybe five, maybe fifteen, get comfortable, light the candle, and sit down and meditate by watching the flame.
The blooming tea is fun, and will be great for meditation as well! Get your meditation space ready, follow the instructions, and sit yourself down and watch the flowers unfurl. Then have a nice relaxing cup of tea as you come out of the meditative state, maybe light the candle and zone out.
I included almandine garnet because 1- it’s cool, and 2- it provides peaceful strength and support for you on your meditative journey.
The Tajin is just for fun. I chose dragonsblood incense because guess what? I like dragonsblood! So you get it.
The plus tier is getting a lavastone bracelet that I made- I learned to do this just for y’all! I don’t do this kind of jewelry-making. But anyway, it’s lavastone and black obsidian for more grounding power, and so you can dab the oil onto it and use it as a little wearable aromatherapy.
