It’s September. It’s sort of cooling down here in Arizona, but the rains are still coming pretty regularly. Monsoon is still here as I write this, and I’m going to go get in the creek at Anahata’s Purpose in a couple of weeks. What better time than now to work with water?
In the box:
Metal altar bowl
Personalized flask for “holy” water
Thai tea
Canvas for you to create your own watery image
Hand-poured floating candle
Sodalite tumbles
Deluxe boxes: fluorite windows
First, the candle- I left it long, but you need to cut it to about ¼” to ½” or it’s just going to become a fireball. After you cut it, hold it by the wick and GENTLY lower it into a bowl of water. Clear bowls look really nice.
I didn’t make the flask, but I did engrave it, and choose the image based on what I wanted to make you think of when you use it. It’s a calming scene of a (probably nude, behind her towel) woman at the shore. She’s surrounded by seagulls and dragonflies. For me, the woman is completely herself, without adornment. She’s standing on the edge of the water and the land. Dragonflies can symbolize change- is she coming from land to water? Or the opposite? Either way, she’s going to be in a completely different environment. Seagulls soar over everything, having a “bird’s eye view” over the whole scenario. Sodalite is said to help you find and know yourself. The flask itself is going to change what you put into it. It goes in just plain water, but the intention with which you fill the flask will bless (or curse, depending on your need) what comes out.
I plan on filling the flask with water from my tap- I’m lucky, because I have well water. If you don’t like your tap water, it won’t hurt anything to use bottled or filtered water. In fact it’s probably best, so you avoid mineral buildup in there.
I tend to just think in imagery, but I decided to write something out if you like. I chose to ask Venus, because I love Botticelli’s painting “The Birth of Venus”, and also, why not?
“A boon from Venus, born of water, I ask-to bless the water that enters this flask.
The water that pours from the flask will be blessed; for your help I ask, this is my behest.”
Then I’ll use it to fill a bowl with the now-holy water, and put my candle in. Maybe even toss the sodalite in there, it’s pretty and I don’t plan on drinking the water the candle’s been in.
The bowl is to put on your altar to hold water. If you haven’t noticed yet, I’m giving you containers for each element to put on your altar in each elemental box.
