Moon Water

November. Prime time for ancestor work… and hopefully a time of clear skies to silver some moon water.

This year I (and some of you) read a book that described making “silvered” moon water. It imbues water with the strength and magic of the full moon. To collect it, put water into a shallow pan or bowl. You can use a taller one, or a jar, but the smaller the flat surface of the water, the more difficult this task is. Your goal is to catch the reflection of the moon in the water. As far as “Can I use tap water?” my thoughts are that you use what you drink. If you drink bottled water, use that. If you drink tap, use that. Go out and catch the moon’s reflection in the top of the water and let it hover there- watch the presence of the moon infuse into it, adding powerful transformative magic. Take it inside and pour it into a jar, and label it with the moon phase and date.

Bless the bottle by passing it through the incense. Put moon water into the roller bottle and use it to make sigils or runes on yourself, on your front door, your pets, your partners, your kids… it’s an easy way to carry that power with you, and to quietly add some magic whenever and wherever you need.

The tea is my favorite blend that is now available in decaf! And as a nod to the season, write intentions and messages on the joss paper and burn to send spirit money and information to your ancestors.
