Creativity

Hope everyone had a good Litha!

This month’s spell is about creativity. I personally would do this spell on a full moon (the 24th).

Included in the box:

Purple candle

Rainbow fluorite

The ingredients are spicy, because when I think of creativity it’s a fiery process.

Whole cinnamon sticks, cardamom, and nutmeg will be in your box.

Custom-blended creativity oil that I started on a waxing moon several months ago.

Finally is the necklace. This spell is cyclical. Hagalaz the destroyer clears out whatever is in your psyche to make room for Berkana, the feminine fertile form. Then Ingwaz, the seed, adds even more fertility to it! Finally is Kennaz, the flame of creativity- the result of all that work. Which will eventually go out, we all hit a block sooner or later. Then you begin it all again.

For your altar/personal apothecary:

Walnut crystal (or candle) holder, with a hole for incense

Clove incense (more creative spice!)

Working The Spell

You can enchant something (Plus and Deluxe tiers got necklaces with these runes), similar to what you did in May. Or you can just do a candle spell for meditation using what I sent you.

If you cast a circle or call corners, go ahead and do that now. You can light the incense and let it fill the room, using the smoke to bless the necklace.

If you like, you can dress the candle. DON’T DROP OIL INTO THE LIT CANDLE. Maybe rub a drop of it on the top before you light it. Basil would be a nice addition as well. I don’t use the whole ingredients I sent, but I like to bless them and then put them in the area where I’m working so I still get their effect.

In what way do you want to become more creative? Do you want to write better? Add a piece of lapis to the fluorite to help bring you the words. Want to be more creative in the kitchen? Add more herbs. Want to be more creative with your spellwork? Throw in some mugwort or your labradorite.

I like to try to get the attention of the muses if I need inspiration. Let them know the incense is for them, and ask them to send you a little help in whatever you’re working on.

I pass the necklace through the smoke (or just over the candle where the heat rises if there’s no smoke), imbuing it with creative spirit.

Then wear that bitch and make some stuff!

Also- I found this month that if my workspace is a shitshow, I won’t work in it. My friend Summer sent me a candle that she had blessed and dressed for creativity and I lit it and got to work cleaning my benchtop and studio. I was finally able to get some work done once I straightened up. Consider adding a sprig of rosemary specifically for motivation (just tell it that’s what it’s for, you know it’s a workhorse) and neatening up the area where you need to do whatever work you want to do.
