February 2024 Witchy Words
Well, it’s February… my least favorite month of the year. At least there’s marked down chocolate in the middle of it, and soon Cadbury mini eggs will be here! But anyway, this is a witch box, not my fantasy about holiday candy.
In the box this month:
Tarot clipboard
Spell pen
Zots candy
Rope incense
Rope incense holder
Spell ingredients: apple seeds for knowledge, ephedra/mormon tea for energy, tiger eye chips for determination, clear quartz for clarity of thought, paper for scroll
Washer necklace (and emergency pendulum)
Yooperlite for clear thinking and to give you that “lightbulb” moment. Phosphoresces under UV/blacklight
Watermelon drink mix bc Cease Fire
and the journal kit from last August because why not?
I made this clipboard with some 3-card spreads to try out. The pen opens at the top- the very top/clip twists off so you can fill it. I also made the incense holder from deadfall mesquite, the one that I am tearing down by hand, if you remember me showing you that on Marco. The rope incense is a great, quick way to get cleansing smoke, and I sent rose this time. I was excited to see yooperlite at the show this year, so of course I grabbed some for us!
The spell I am using this month is fun. We’re charming a pen to help us with creativity so that when we use it, creativity just flows into the ink and onto the paper to help you craft and clarify your ideas.
Take the pen apart and get the items to put in it. Pass them through the incense smoke to cleanse it- I was pretty stressed this month and you want to get all those yucky vibes off them! I didn’t intentionally put it in the box, but better safe than sorry.
As you drop them into the pen, think about what you’re adding. When you add the apple seed, what knowledge are you hoping for? When you drop the ephedra in, think about what you’re hoping to energize, or what energy you’re hoping to add to your project. When I add the tiger eye and quartz, I’ll think about how I want the pen to help me create new ideas for jewelry, new fun stuff for Hive House, even just interesting meals when I’m making a grocery list. Then I’ll create a sigil for creativity using the method we talked about in September. Use the pen to write it on the scroll, and make that the last thing you put in the pen. If you’re participating in the read-along of The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron that Andrea of Appalachia is leading, you now have a pen to write your morning pages!
Remember our collaborative reading for 2024? Here’s the reading Lisa did for February.
“February is the three of coins (pentacles). This card seems to show up a lot from this deck. The simple interpretation is "learning new skills, developing new abilities". This is the apprenticeship stage where we know the basics and can be trusted to go alone, the dragon can see the path ahead, even though the destination may still be hidden. This particular card has moonbeams illuminating the darkness, and mushrooms, which break-down the dead and prepare it to be something new. Interestingly this deck shows the dragon on it's own, instead of being watched over by the masters.”
