Money Magic

Since you want your money intake/bank account to increase, let’s do this one on the dark/new moon (April 11/12). As the moon grows, so grows your bank account!

If you cast a circle or call corners, go ahead and do that now. Light the charcoal (safely please- if you aren’t sure about this part please message me) and add a pinch of the Ninth House herbal blend. If you don’t want to light charcoal, you can light a bayberry match with a lighter, blow it out, and pass your bag and stones/crystals through the smoke to bless it.

If you like, you can dress a green candle. Mix herbs as you wish, adding more or less of what you feel you need. I might use cinnamon for speed, mint for prosperity, alfalfa for money, salt for more money, cumin seed to help hold onto the money you have, and basil for prosperity. Roll over them in a bag with a bottle or rolling pin, crush them between two spoons, or grind them in your mortar and pestle. Rub a little oil or whatever liquid you prefer (if you use Florida or Monsoon water please be sure it dries completely before lighting the candle), pulling it towards you (bringing it in). Sprinkle the herbs over the candle, or roll it in the herbs. Put it in your holder and get ready to work your magic.

Write your intent (raise, job, inheritance, whatever) on a bay leaf.  Turn it clockwise 90 degrees and write it again, over the first. Continue to do this until you’ve written the word in all 4 directions. Add the leaf to your bag or bowl.

Tell each ingredient what its job is as you place them into the charm bag- most of them do multiple things. If you like you can roll the bag around in your hand to crush the herbs and bring out the oils in them. Tiger eye, pyrite, and green jade can help strengthen the spell so add those if you have them.

If picturing the working helps you (it does me), then try this. Since I do a lot of breathwork, I like to envision breathing in energy from the Universe, converting it to my will in my lungs, and breathing my intent out onto my working. For this I will probably imagine some sort of green-gold color and blow it into the bag. If you’ve ever seen those videos where makeup artists tap their brushes and glitter falls onto the camera lens- that is what my breathwork looks like. If you work with deities, you could ask for their assistance in helping you work towards your goal. You could petition the Hindu goddess Lakshmi, said to be the goddess of abundance and wealth. I myself would feel strange asking for her help though since I don’t work with her in any other way. I’m sticking to just asking the Universe and my home spirits for assistance- you could look some up to decide for yourself though.

Specify things you want to work on- a better job? A lucky windfall? Winning the lottery? A raise? Think about how you’ll feel when you receive this, and be glad. Let the deity or the Universe know that the herbs on the candle are being offered up to it, and in return that you ask for their help in achieving the goal.

When you feel finished, close your circle and thank any deities, spirits, or entities with whom you worked.

I keep my bag in a special spot near my living room shrine so I see it daily, and remember to feed and turn it.

I like to “feed” my charm bag periodically. If you get the monthly spell box you have a coin to start out with, and a lodestone, some pyrite, and some alfalfa. I plan on adding one or two bits of each of these, plus some iron shavings, throughout the month. I tend to feed it and then turn it 3 times clockwise (deosil) to continue to pull more money in. I also like to add paper money whenever I get some, which honestly isn’t often  (if I have cash I buy candy until there's no more cash). 

When you’re finished with the bag, either because you feel like you received what you wanted or because you want to start over, you can compost the herbs. Put the stones somewhere safe until you can cleanse and charge them in moon or sunlight, and you can wash the bag for another task.
