Inner Child
Welcome to Hive House, and your new Bee Box! This month I decided to call on my Anahata’s experience and do some inner child work (even though I took a total of NO classes at Anahata’s this year).
In the box:
Spirograph for making a beautiful protective ring
Rainbow scratch paper for sigil-making
Shape tracing for whatever you need it to be
Soapstone carvings: frog for transformation, owl for wisdom
A gorgeous candle and joyful dressing oil
A ring pop because come ON. It’s a frikking ring pop y’all!
Money drawing incense bc I just spent a lotta money on my trip
Multicolor all-in-one pen because DELIGHT
Copper and labradorite necklace
First, get out the spirograph kit. Create your circle, or whatever shape you choose. Play with it to remind yourself how it works, AND how to play. When you find a design you like, choose a color you associate with protection, and create your ring of protection on a slip of paper. I tend to use blue for health and protection when I’m doing breath magic on the highway, so that’s what I’m going to use. While you’re making it, think about when you engage in negative self talk. Whose voice is it? What are they saying? When did you *first* hear those words aimed at yourself?
The protective circle you’re making is convoluted and complicated- the twists, turns, points, and curves will work to keep those mean, untrue words away from what you’re going to put in the center. Hint: What’s going in the center is YOURSELF.
Write your name, either birth or chosen, out. Cross out any vowels. Then cross out any letters that repeat. Next, you have a choice. You can either use the letters entire, as they are, and stretch them out or distort them and attach them to make a shape.
OR write numbers under each letter- go in alphabetical order. So for me, I used KMBRL. But the numbers go 2, 4, 1, 5, 3, because B would be 1, then K is 2, L is 3, etc.
Then go to the enneagram chart and start with the first letter in your name. Put your pen on that number, and go through your name letter by letter. My sigil is shown on the enneagram chart.
The last way, and the way I prefer, is to break down each letter into shapes. I get angles, curves, and straight lines. An M can be 4 straight lines, or 2 sharp angles, if you use the capital. If you use lowercase, you can get a straight line and 2 curves (humps, I call them). Then I assemble the shapes of the letters into a pleasing shape. I’ve included a pic of an old one I made using the phrase “I want adventure” where I removed vowels and repeats, then broke each letter into shapes, then assembled them into something I found pretty.
Once you have your sigil formed, draw it inside the protective circle you made. You can stop there, or you can go ahead and scratch the protective ring and the sigil onto the rainbow scratch paper.
Dress the candle in joy oil to create an atmosphere of happiness. Fold the paper with your sigil and protection and put it under the dish you put the candle in. Ask your protectors, spirits, ancestors, or whatever deity you work with, to help you keep joy in your heart and to help keep the cruel untruths out of your mind.
After that, put on some music that you love and dance the hell out of it until the candle burns itself down. If you like, come into the Hive House group on facebook (private, but caveat: the group is not just people who are Bee Box members) and tell us what brings you joy and makes you feel gleeful. We’d love to hear from you! Alternatively, you can post it in the Crepuscular Conjurations group if you aren’t ready to interact with a ton of people, as only Bee Box members are allowed in that group.
You can also share your spirograph designs! I personally will not be sharing my protective circle and sigil because I generally don’t believe in showing that kind of work, but I will definitely show off whatever fun things I come up with using the spirograph! It reminds me of sacred geometry.
Thanks for joining me on this new adventure, I appreciate you so much!
