Monthly Spell
December 2021
New Year
Welcome to the end of 2021! We made it! This month’s spell is a simple one, but it’s one I really love: the pinecone spell. I did it 2 years ago and was very happy with it, and before my pine tree died (drought and probably beetle infestation), it gave me a lot of cones that I’m sharing with y’all.
This has been my first full year using Patreon as a creator and you have all made it so much fun for me. I love putting the boxes together, and I love talking to you all. And if you don’t talk much- that’s OK! I still love you, and I welcome you to join the conversations on Marco and facebook and anywhere else you see me hanging out.
As a reminder- I will be taking a break for the month of January so the next boxes won’t go out until February 1. Also the tier structure will change somewhat- no apothecary tiers, but more spell tiers.
Things you need:
a pine cone
tiny slips of paper
candle
place you can burn the pine cone
For the spell: Decide if you want to let go, or bring in. Find a place outside to make a tiny fire, or a big one if you’re able. A large tomato can would work, or a grill, if you can’t do bonfires. Cut small strips of paper and write what you want to leave behind in this year, or what you want to bring or receive in 2022. Roll or fold them into tubes and tuck them into the pinecone. Light the candle and as it melts, tell it what you wrote on the paper and let it know how it needs to help you. Either letting go, or bringing in. Pour the candle over the pinecone and papers. When the wax cools, hold the pinecone in both hands and breathe in deeply- imagine breathing in energy from the universe and the earth and hold it inside, imbuing your breath with that energy and your intent. Hold it for a few moments, and then blow that energy onto the pinecone. I imagine it coming into my body as golden, and then when I exhale it’s whatever color I assign to my intent. Health and safety is usually blue, luck is green, joy is yellow or multicolor. If you remember the glitter and the elder straw, that’s what it looks like; and the glitter “melts” into the item I’m blowing on, and then it will glow, in my mind’s eye, with the intent.
If you have the fire lit, add the pinecone and let the smoke carry your intent to the universe to make it happen. If you don’t, put some paper under the pinecone and light it, and you’ll probably need to have stopped at Harbor Freight for an $8 orange blowtorch because it’s hard to start fires without a torch, in my experience. Y’all should really read these before you do the spell for when I throw this sort of thing in. Sorry.
And that’s it! I am excited for next year, and thank you all again for being here through this one.
