From artist Ruth:

After a trip to our local aquarium, I was inspired and decided to give this month's page an ocean theme.

With September being the month of the beautiful gathering at Anahata's, this theme seemed perfect, especially since I missed this year. As sad as I was to be unable to join y'all this time, the time I had to reflect on my own did me a world of good. I can't wait to see everyone next year.

The deepest depths of the ocean are still yet to be fully understood by humans and there are undoubtedly countless new discoveries to be made as the years pass. The same can be said of ourselves.

Looking at the surface, you may never know what wonders may lay beneath.

You may never know the true depths unless you are willing to make those deep dives to find them.

You may never make new discoveries unless you're daring enough to brave the dark and crushing pressures held deep within; and then there it is, a beautiful rainbow of luminescence floating with an otherworldly grace even though it seems impossibly buried beneath the weight of miles of midnight.

That is what we seek, the light, the vibrant color, within our own crushing depths. The beauty that we didn't think could exist in that imposing gloom gently defies our doubts by saying, “I have been here all along.”
